Organizer's schedule
As part of the Night of Scientists 2025, a series of short lectures will be held on the premises of the Pecný Geodetic Observatory to introduce visitors to the scientific activities at this research facility.
The Geodetic Observatory Pecný in Ondřejov near Prague is a workplace of experimental geodetic research. The observatory is equipped with facilities for high-precision gravimetric and GNSS observations, a tilt laboratory with a thermocouple and optical instruments for astrometric measurements. The department carries out absolute gravimeter comparisons and GNSS receiver function testing. The observatory operates analysis centres for GNSS and DORIS data processing. A test geodetic point array and a GNSS position standard for testing are built in the vicinity of the observatory.
