Geodetic Observatory Pecný

The Pecný Geodetic Observatory in Ondřejov near Prague is a workplace of experimental geodetic research. The observatory is equipped with equipment for high-precision gravimetric and GNSS observations, a waterfall laboratory with a thermal chamber and optical instruments for astrometric measurements. The department carries out absolute gravimeter comparisons and GNSS receiver function testing. The observatory operates analysis centres for GNSS and DORIS data processing. A test geodetic point array and a GNSS position standard for testing are built in the vicinity of the observatory.

The observatory has a GNSS reference station of the Czech Republic, one of the basic height points, an absolute gravity point, a comparative astronomical point of the Czechoslovak astronomical-geodetic network and a point of the European reference frame EUREF.
