The lecture will present unique research taking place at the University of Pardubice, which paves the way for the early detection of one of the most insidious cancers – pancreatic cancer. The research will be introduced from the initial idea, through obtaining patents and the creation of the spin-off company Lipidica, to the launch of a large-scale clinical study in cooperation with 15 hospitals across the Czech Republic. Finally, we will look into follow-up research that explores the potential of this method for other types of cancer as well as for clarifying changes in lipid metabolism in the human body.
