Excess body fat is much more than just a cosmetic problem—it quietly undermines our health. This presentation will focus on how adipose tissue, once considered merely a passive energy reservoir, functions as an active organ that powerfully influences our metabolism, immune system, and disease risk. We will explore the biology of fat, its role in inflammation and hormone regulation, and examine how its hidden activities contribute to common but serious health problems, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease. Using advanced imaging methods, we will take a closer look at “fat under the microscope” and reveal what makes it a silent but dangerous enemy within our bodies.
