Organization places

The European Parliament Liaison Office in Czechia is responsible for the local implementation of institutional communication activities in the Czech Republic with the ultimate goal of enhancing people’s awareness of the impact of the European Parliament on their daily lives and promoting their engagement in the European democratic process. It helps to inform about the work of the Members of the European Parliament for the Czech Republic, acts as their contact point and arranges institutional visits from the European Parliament to the Czech Republic.
For this purpose, the office is in contact, for example, with the media, political representation, state administration, educational establishments, civic associations, as well as other EU institutions.
In cooperation with the Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic, the European Parliament Liaison Office in Czechia runs the interactive visitor centre Experience Europe at Národní 10, Prague 1 (open daily to the public from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m).
The Representation of the European Commission supports the President and the Commission as a whole their contacts with the representatives of the Czech Republic, promoting a continuous political dialogue with national, regional and local authorities, the Parliament, social partners, academia and civil society. The Representation organizes and provides support for visits of Commissioners and senior officials of the Commission and, where appropriate, of the European External Action Service. It is the voice of the Commission in the Czech Republic and communicates about the EU with the media and on social media.
It is also tasked with engaging with citizens, academia, civil society, social partners and other stakeholders, and with communicating on EU priorities and policies. At the same time, it provides information on the Czech Republic, including analyses and advice on political, economic and social developments, to the President and Members of the Commission in order to feed into EU policy-making and political communication.
The European Parliament and the European Commission have offices in the capitals of all 27 EU Member States, as well as regional offices in Barcelona, Bonn, Marseille, Milan, Munich and Wroclaw, and work closely together.
