Czech metrology institute provides uniformity and precision of measuring instruments and measurement in all the fields of research, technical and economic activities in the range of Law about metrology Nr. 505/90 Sb. in valid issue.

Measuring and weighing has ensured fair trade between people and nations since time immemorial. In historical times, the length of goods was measured by the arms of kings, weight by seeds. Today, sophisticated systems with lasers, sensitive sensors and quantum phenomena reign supreme in precision measurement. Join us for a look under the hood of metrology, state standards, interesting measurements that allow you to get what you paid for in the tailgate, find out the correct and accurate temperature at the doctor's office, find out how much electricity you used at home in the switchboard, and much more.

Try out 3D mapping of a toy you brought in, make your own sundial, have your scale or thermometer checked, try out your estimate of distance, weight and other areas of measurement. We have competitions and workshops for children and each visitor can receive a calibration sheet with their results at the end of their journey.
